Character Profile
PERSONALITY BLURB:

Vinh is petty. She usually has the energy to go out of way to point out any behaviours, words, and attitudes, that make her feel less threatened or upset. Sometimes her corrections are justified but she has been known to overindulge in her own attitude creating a cycle of pointed tones and verbal jabs. Too many years of being the left in the wake has left her eager to stand up to others.

Vinh has an interesting relationship between tradition and new school ideologies. She has nothing but respect for those that have come before her but she also recognises that in the modern area everything can not remain the same. The young woman will often come across as a contrarian to others despite her well meaning intentions.

Known to be a bit bougie, Vinh has been called an Ice Queen by many. Though she plays the part of the pleasantries and formalities but at the end of the day it rarely extends beyond that. She looks for people that match her intensity in terms of passions and ideas. Because of that she keeps the circle tight for actually getting to know her but does keep a wide social circle of surface friends.

Vinh is nosey. As in the pursuit of knowledge excites her. In the day-to-day this can present itself as gossip but when she finds herself in a creative headspace that means she will press a project or an idea until she can follow it no longer. Curiosity is said to kill the cat but perhaps that's why they note that cats have nine lives?

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:

A rush of cool air forces the young woman to pull her jacket a little tighter to her body. It isn’t quite yet night time but the sky above evokes the shifting tones of blue to warm hues. Currently she headed home. It’s been a long day and she’s just looking to relax. A book maybe?

(I’ve started so many...which will it be...which will it be?)

Books were a not so guilty pleasure for Vinh. Even the worst collection of pages could teach her something. (Like how trying to hide from something can bring you to the very thing itself.) There had always been something about books, particularly fiction that caught her eye. There was something powerful to be said about the stories of old. They were enchanting inspiring and yet not every story could hold up to the rigors of the current day. (You’d never catch me going full Juliette.) She scoffs at the notion.

Another shiver makes its way over her but this time it had little to do with the temperature. She looks on as a man, tall and brutish, waves his hands in dismiss of a man asking for help. Vinh could feel the heat swelling within her her body. She drops on bended knee to be eye level with the man who is clearly down on his luck. “I’m sorry sir.” She tucks a few strands of falling hair behind her ear, revealing a few piercings. Vinh had always been taught that a community is only as strong as its perceived weakest members. “Do you need anything?” Her words are intentionally vague. She didn’t want to put any limits on him at the moment. What he had just experienced had probably been only one of the handful of ways that he had been devalued and dehumanized. The man mumbles and she nodded. “Great, I’ll be right back. It shouldn’t be more than 15 minutes.”

To be honest, it would take 5 to meet his requests but she certainly would need at least seven minutes to let the rude man know just how wrong he had been. A community is only as strong as its weakest member and that meant not the beggar but rather those that did not uflit others.

(He found the right one today.)

She then swings the door open and enters cuts eyes into the space in search of the rude behemoth.

Fate knows your calling...

Magical Human

Vinh Tran

Fate knows your calling…
Character Race

Your powers manifested from a long line of magical witches. However, your development of said powers is not as impressive as the heritage they stem from. Seemingly, you are "left in the wake" by other family members who move progressively forward with their magics while you stagnate. This has made you quietly resentful, and has undoubtedly influenced your Ice Queen persona. Such personality traits, perhaps, developed as a defense mechanism to make up for your self-perceived inadequacies.

However, despite your public persona, your empathy has not faltered. You are a good witch. A strong-willed witch. One who continues to use her powers to protect those who cannot protect themselves. For this reason, The Elders have come to depend on you as one of their agents and often task you with saving innocents from demonic forces. To aid you in this destiny, you have been assigned to the guardianship of Paige Matthews who serves as your Whitelighter.

Inherent Abilities

Your magical inheritance bestows you with access to the Craft. You can harness magic through the practice of spell casting, potion crafting, and scrying. Other natural talents include the power of Mediumship. A trait which enables you to see and communicate with ghosts without magical aid.

Since you descend from old magic, you also have an additional inherent power. You possess a higher resistance to injury, which helps you survive otherwise lethal magical attacks. A magical power must be lethal to someone at least three levels above your own for it to prove sufficient enough to cause death. In regards to passive and psychic powers, this resistance shields you from such powers possessed by individuals at or below your own level.

Individual Powers
The magical powers you manifested from your ancestral line are based on movement. Your initial power manifested in the form of teleportation. This magical talent allows you to transport yourself across staggering distances via a spiraling golden light in a short time span. Originally triggered by curiosity, your mastery over the power allows you to trigger your ability through a conscious will.

While teleportation is a useful power for a witch who finds herself in compromising or dangerous situations it is not exactly boundless. You can teleport not further than roughly 600 square miles. from your initial location. This leaves only able to teleport around your current earth location. You also cannot teleport across dimensions. Individually, you can teleport with no more than one additional passenger.

Through time your powers over movement expanded to include telepathy. Through this power you can control the transference of audible thoughts between yourself and another individual. Since your telepathy is not on the "on position" permanently, you must utilize your trigger of curiosity to activate it. The limits of this power only allows you to hear and transmit thoughts between yourself and one other being within your immediate vicinity (thread) at any given time.

Based on your experience with your powers you are currently a Level Four. This makes you a Lower Level Witch.

Financial Status and Occupation

You are employed as a Public Defender and you provide criminal legal assistance to the poor and needy who are unable to afford a lawyer, and are facing charges in a Singapore court for non death-penalty offences. Your income from this position makes you securely middle class.

Residence and Starting Point

As a member of the middle class you have the resources to provide a stable home for yourself. Your recently purchased your own townhome in the Residential District of the Katong District.

Please post a completed biography within the Pending Biographies forum. Once your biography is approved, you will be moved into the appropriate member group, granting you permission to begin your journey in the Sidewalks of the Katong District.
