ALTERNATIVE NAMES: Tabby, Tab, Tee
With anything Tabatha does, she goes full out. Instead of using words, Tabatha shows what she’s capable of through action. Whether this be braiding someone’s hair, teaching herself pool, or trying to make Indra proud of her (don’t let her know that she said that or else she’d kill you). She can become reckless with how she handles things, especially if she’s trying to prove the point that she isn’t someone to be messed with. She’s a bit of a sassafras, but that comes with having an older sister.Tabatha is very close to her magical grandmother and has gone on several different runs for her. To Tabatha, Ol Momma has so much wisdom to bestow on her that she will literally sit and listen to all the stories and past experiences that she had. Now, when it comes to her extremely successful sister, Indra, Tabatha doesn’t necessarily feel some type of way. Indra can do whatever Indra wants and Tab isn’t bothered by it. In actuality, she’s happy that Indra is doing her own thing. That leaves Tab to revel in whatever Ol Momma has in store for her. Now, when it comes to those two little rugrats she calls brothers, Tabatha has much love for them. No matter how much they irritate her, she still will do anything for them. Being the middle child has taught Tabatha responsibility and patience. Unlike other children like her, she hasn’t developed the “middle child syndrome”. Tabatha was a pre-teen when her father passed and ever since then, Tabatha hasn’t really coped with it. She hasn’t become jaded by this, however, instead of realizing how short life is and wants to live it to the fullest. This is also why she’s so close to her grandma. She feels as if she was the closest one to her father. She does miss him from time to time and tries to keep her true emotions toward him hid away from the world.
Tabatha was born into a lower middle class family. Her parents made decent wages, but with four children to support their dollars were stretched. Tabatha was the second of the four children -- her older sister Indra was first, then came the twin brothers Adrian and Etan came last. Tabatha's father passed away unexpectedly when she was a pre-teen and the family grieved his loss, and unfortunately, Tabatha is still dealing with that loss. They were all born shamans, the skill passed on through their mother's lineage, although Tabatha’s mother taught her little to nothing about the craft and shaman ways. Her grandmother was who first sparked her love of magic.
As a magical human, Tabatha was endowed with basic magic skills including potion making, spell casting, and scrying. As a shaman her way with spell casting is a talent that proves more dominant than the other two aforementioned traits, but they are at her disposal as a practitioner of the craft nonetheless. There are other powers available to Tee and the rest of her race. She, as a shaman, also possesses the inherent power of Mediumship, and it is finely attuned to communicating with Spirit Guides. She may also sense other shamans via Limited Perception. Finally, like other shamans, Tabatha can communicate telepathically with animals via Animal Empathy and can transform, or Shift, into any species that she has ever established a psychic, emotional link with. Finally, there are a few skills unique to Tabatha granted by the powers that be. Because of her realizing her shamanism late in life, Tabatha is a lower level shaman. Her power allows her to read the minds of others, but just the surface thoughts. If she were to activate her powers in-crowd, all of the surface thoughts would flood her brain and cause her to become disoriented and confused.
Death is never an easy thing to handle and for a pre-teen Tabatha there was no exception. Tabatha Oshun Churchill, being the second daughter and second child born to a shaman and human, the weight of being the former wasn’t as strong as it was for Indra, her older sister. Of course, like the rest of her siblings, Tabatha had no idea that her mother was a shaman, but there was always a suspicions. It wasn’t until Tabatha was a freshmen in high school that her grandmother, also known as Ol Momma, sat all of the kids down and told them that they were shamans. At first, Tabatha didn’t believe her, but after thinking through it, she realized that she was. Tabby never saw herself as special, but now she knew that she was. However, it wasn’t until Indra moved out to go live her best life that Tabatha had the chance to have one-on-one time with Ol Momma. Her zeal for magical knowledge allowed her to be somewhat of a quick study. She didn’t complain when her grandmother told her to run errands or do mundane things. Aside from this, Tabatha worked hard in school. She wanted to make sure that he would be able to get into a good university and be just as good if not better than her older sister. Thanks to Indra, who Ol Momma convinced, allowed Tabatha to travel abroad and study at Bosphorus University in Istanbul as a full time undergrad student. Also thanks to her older sister, she now stays in Indra’s beautiful upper-class apartment.
